I really liked this. I have to say I wasn't surprised when I got to the end and found out the author started out writing fanfic. Quality was certainly lacking, but for sexy gay erotica with faeries, you can't go wrong with this book!

I liked the characters and their abilities. It was fun to see what kinds of magics the faeries would have. The connection to the earth/plants and moving through space were nice. It certainly made for some fun, creative sex scenes! At first I wasn't so sure I bought the quickness with which these men began associating... but considering one had spent his whole life dreaming of the other, and the other spent so many human years watching the one, and they're both gorgeous good guys, I guess it didn't hurt that it happened so quickly. The emotion and intensity in the scenes were great. Oh, and the tattoo- yum!

The very angsty plot was right up my alley, too. Except that the climax (pun intended) was far too quick IMHO. It seemed too fast and simple, though the solution was a good one. I would have liked a little more of a fight after so much build-up.

In all, for what it was, it was a perfect book to enjoy and get me in the mood at FaerieCon. I'm glad I had a chance to read it.
