Christmas Wombat
by Jackie French
There are two picture book level series that I will happily pick up and re-read and adore no matter what. The first is the Elephant and Piggie books written by Mo Willems. Those have an unbelievable amount of humor and cleverness. The style is unique and appealing. The second are these wombat books.
The wombat is all about sleeping and eating... and in this story, finds some carrots someone left out. They were left out for strange creatures to eat, and the wombat is not a fan of the strange creatures with antlers. The wombat then finds a nice place to sleep--which happens to be on the back of Santa's sleigh. It's a delightfully fun adventure told from the wombat's perspective (and no understanding about the holiday LOL). It was entertaining and absolutely adorable. Highly recommended for anyone who needs a dose of cute!
