Technically, this is the last book in the series, but there are still two specials I haven't read yet that fall within the series. So it was a little bittersweet reading this book. After the rocky ground Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon have found themselves on for the past story arc, it was nice seeing them work together as Padawan and Master and individually as responsible Jedi.

I was moved when Qui-Gon tried to meditate on the day when Obi-Wan would be a knight and not his padawan learner, only to find he could not see it. As a reader/fan, I knew why, but Qui-Gon didn't, which was sad when he came to the wrong conclusions about it. However, I like that he put his emotions aside to reason things out and trust in Obi-Wan when Obi stumbles upon a possible solution. And though Qui-Gon wants to be involved, he backs off and tackles it from another direction, letting Obi-Wan have space to bring about results on his own. The love and desire of the Jedi for peace and harmony came through beautifully in this book, as it rehashed a lot of emotions and situations felt throughout the series. I enjoyed watching the Jedi, experienced Master and Padawan now, tackle the mission well.
