Otto the Book Bear by Katie Cleminson

Otto the Book Bear
by Katie Cleminson

I came across this at the library while volunteering and OMG how cute is that little face? A book bear? I had to read it! So I did.

Otto is a little bear who lives in a children's book. At night, when no one is looking, he sneaks out of the book and looks around and even uses a typewriter to write his own stories. One day, his family moves and his book accidentally gets left behind. OH NO! He heads out into the world to find a new home, but he's so tiny and can't find anywhere to live (I was amused by the stray cats ignoring him). Finally, he finds a library full of other characters who leave their books at night. He even finds another book bear who invites him to live in the book with him. Awww.

Otto and his search were adorable. Though it's nice that he could venture out and have adventures, he's happiest when his story is being read. His search for a new story he can be part of was a bit meta and a lot sweet. Definitely a sweet story with a sweet character.
