Fun in Baltimore!

Went to another meetup today! BC in DC went on a field trip up to the Book Thing in Baltimore. We came out of it with about 600 books for release-- all totally free! After raiding the place, we met up at Panera where I was completely amazed at melydia's quick registering skills. We talked about books, release strategies, challenges, and other random fun topics. On the way home, Jill died (my charger is in pieces and her battery ran down! *cries*) so I got lost and upset and frustrated on the final leg, but cookie got us home just fine.

We stopped a number of places on the way home to release books: a bus stop at the Panera parking lot, benches at Towson university, Jiffy Lube/a seafood restaurant, and a Maryland Welcome center/rest stop. After some weird exit stuff, we finally got back to IKEA (where we had picked up & then dropped off kristamd) and did a little shopping (I managed to buy nothing- good Keta!). I left a couple books there, though.

Books donated to the BookThing: 20 (and some short ones that I didn't register)
Books given away at Panera in controlled releases to other BookCrossers: 21
Books wild released: 5
Books I got at the BookThing: 162 + a bunch other people got for me for specific release goals (squee!)

Hmmm. A little off balance, but at least I got rid of about 50 books today! And I had a great time with the BC in DCers, of course.
