Worst Books Threads
Dec. 30th, 2008 09:40 pmOkay, so I did it again. I clicked on the thread on the sidebar on the BC site which was discussing the worst books read in 2008. I really need to learn never, ever to read those threads. I understand we all have our own tastes, and I like a LOT of crap that most people hate... but it makes me so sad to see people not liking books that I loved. Not because I think everyone should love what I love... but because I don't want my thoughts about a book I loved to be "I LOVED that book... but I know people who hated it". I don't want my thoughts about a book to be mixed in my head with others' negative thoughts. I want to remember the good times I had with books-- my own private, intimate love affairs, you might say. Seeing people talk about what they didn't like about my books makes me so sad.
And so when I draw up my BookCrossing resolutions tomorrow... I've decided what one of the points should be. Whatever you do, KateKintail, DO NOT CLICK ON "WORST BOOK" DISCUSSION THREADS!
