Recovered Books
Jul. 3rd, 2015 05:51 pmOne of the last times I was at the Book Thing of Baltimore, Inc., I found three BookCrossing books. Whenever I go, i search for books with Bally stickers on their spines, in order to rescue the books. I found these three. However, these books needed more than rescuing! It seems that the Book Thing staff cut the covers off these beautiful books because they didn't like the BookCrossing labels in them. What an utter tragedy.
One of the three books had its BCID written on the spine, so I knew where it had come from: http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/6063652/
But the other two are mysteries. I decided to give the books new covers by printing copies out on cardstock and taping them onto the books. They're not perfect, but they're better than having no cover at all. I hope that the books can get a second chance out there in the world.
