This is the third book in the Mysterious Benedict Society series. And though my favorite so far is definitely still the first one, I did really enjoy this next adventure of my four favorite genius children. I felt like this particular story did a much better job of highlighting each of the kids' unique talents. And the story was more believable (less forced) than the second book. It also had a great resolution to this ongoing arc as well as to the kids' situations.

Reynie, Kate, Sticky, and Constance are under house arrest after their previous adventures, because the terrible Mr. Curtain is still on the loose and means to hurt them and steal back his mind controlling Whisperer device. But no one could possibly pull one over on Mr. Benedict in Mr. Benedict's own house, right? Oops! Guess what? The kids are kidnapped and the device is stolen. And while I sort of saw that coming, I didn't see all the adventures, riddles, and puzzles that made this mystery and adventure so much fun to read.

I didn't think I'd like the more supernatural element of Constance's mental abilities, but I actually really enjoyed it and how it factored into the plot. I also really liked seeing how close the kids got. The society is such a special thing, and I definitely got the vibe that the kids finally understood that. And it was certainly great to see how this adventure turned out. So many happy ending moments and satisfying resolutions in just one book! But I'm sad that it might be over now. I hope that's not the case. I know there's a prequel, but these kids have been so much fun to get to know. I hope this isn't the last I've seen of them.
