This Day in June
by Gayle E. Pitman
My friend at the library thrust this book into my hand when I was at the library one day. It is ADORABLE! It's a children's picture book about a Pride parade. The pages are all themed and colored, and so many different groups in the LGBTQ+ community are represented. The illustrations are fun and playful and sometimes hilarious or adorable. At the end of the book, there are a few pages that discuss the culture and history of what's represented on the pages, such as Stonewall. So it would work on a bunch of levels for a range of ages. As an adult, I was entertained and informed, but it's accessible for a child as well and a teaching tool on top of entertainment. Brilliantly done!
I suspect this is a book I will take out and enjoy again :-)
