Double the Heat
by Lori Foster, Dierdre Martin, and others

I picked this up because I adore Dierdre Martin's hockey romance series. And, to be honest, I only read her short story in this collection. I'm not really into romance enough to read the other stories.

I liked her story, "Breaking the Ice," quite a lot. In it, Sebastian is a Russian player who has just joined the Blades and Lennie Buckley is a design student who just moved to New York. Neither is looking for love... so obviously they end up falling in love with each other ;-) Except they are both keeping a secret from the other--secrets that eventually come out. But, of course, attraction and love win out in the end.

I loved this dive back into the world of the Blades--seeing characters I've met in other books and finding out what happens to others. The Hart, an Irish bar that makes an appearance in other novels, is central to the story as well. I thought the two main characters had some chemistry and their attraction really did make sense in the story (which is a fault of many romances I read). And all the newer characters were fun to get to know--Lennie's aunt and her parrot, for example. A fun, light read... with hockey goodness!
