Ultimate Spider-Man #4: Legacy
by Brian Michael Bendis & others
Oh dear. The good news: Harry Osborn is back and not completely messed-up after finding out his father is a murderous green goblin. The bad news: he has no memory of what happened to his father. The good news: S.H.I.E.L.D. is taking notice of Spider-Man and promise to keep his loved ones safe, because they know who Spider-Man is. The bad news: They don't seem to be around when Norman aka Green Goblin threatens and kidnaps Peter's loved ones because he ALSO knows who Spider-Man is!
So, yeah. Things aren't really going smoothly for our friendly neightborhood spider-man. In an attempt at finally beating Spider-Man, Normal takes more of his special potion that turns him into a bigger and tougher and meaner and crazier green goblin. And it's all Peter can do to keep his friends and aunt safe while trying not to die. Meanwhile, Gwen shows up, threatening to kill herself, and Peter's got to deal with that and MJ on top of that. Drama!
I really like the balance still of trying to figure out how to crime fight while be a normal kid and protect the people he cares about. And Peter's written so sympathetically, you can't help but feel for the guy. I'm really enjoying this series!
