I do love a good book about imaginary (invisible?) friends. This one, with its simple title, is about a boy named Fred who can see things that others cannot. They're always around, always with him. But then he goes to school and makes new friends and he doesn't have time for these guys any more. When he's older, he feels lonely and doesn't understand why. Then one day a kid asks him who those monsters hanging around him are, and suddenly he sees them again and remembers! Awwwwww!
The story was heartwarming and the art was unbelievably charming and adorable. Example:
