You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost)
You're Never Weird on the Internet (Almost)
by Felicia Day

(Audio)

Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. I could relate to some things, as a girl geek. I was fascinated and entertained by stories Felicia so intimately and eloquently shared. And one of the last chapters made me tear up several times. I first saw Felicia in Buffy, so I was a little disappointed that wasn't in the book more, but I understand that wasn't the overall point of the book. This book was about Felicia carving a place for herself (and her fellow geeks) on the Internet. She makes it look so easy. Get noticed by Joss Whedon, star in a few things, make a web series about gamers, then start a geek channel on YouTube. Simple. Hahahaha! Not remotely simple. Felicia's drive for/expectation of perfection was something I could understand. But her braveness in the face of some really scary trailblazing was amazing and inspiring.

Felicia amazes me so much more now. I loved her honesty. I found her so inspiring. You go, Felicia Day! Thank you for your amazing book. I can't wait to wait to finish the rest of the Guild now. And I'll always love her Flog and other content on Geek & Sundry. I can't wait to see what she creates next!
