Ultimate Spider-Man #19: Death of a Goblin
by Brian Michael Bendis & others
I did NOT see the ending coming. When the Green Goblin (Norman Osborn) escapes, it's up to Peter to stop him. Normal uses all his tricks, including the media, to gain support and momentum. But Peter is one of few who don't give into it. And, of course, Nick Fury is MIA and Carol Danvers only complicates things. There's some great back-and-forth between Kitty Pryde and Peter in this volume as well. The ending shocked me a little--I saw it coming and then decided I was wrong... only to find out I wasn't. And the very end, when everyone is moved to tears did likewise to me.
