Eats Shoots & Leaves: Cutting a Dash--The Radio Series that Inspired the Book
by Lynne Truss
(Audio)
I thought I had a review of this somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. What an interesting audio! The series of radio broadcasts about different punctuation marks was not only educational but entertaining. Before I earread this, I wondered how they could possibly express grammar and punctuation in a purely audio format, but the shows were wonderfully engaging.
Like many of the people briefly interviewed, I'm a bit of a grammar snob as well. I have my pet peeves. It was especially interesting to see the British standpoint; many Americans might agree that we here in the USA use grammar a bit less strictly than Brits do, but it looks like many of the problems understanding and using the finer points of the language are on that side of the pond as well.
Thoroughly entertaining, short, and fun; I recommend this audio program series to anyone! (And, yes, that is an exclamation mark. Got a problem with that?! heehee
