Stargate Atlantis: Entanglement
by Martha Wells
This was the first Stargate Atlantis book I've read. It was a good extension of the show.
I love John and Rodney especially, and the author did a fantastic job with the two of them. It was also great to see Lorne in a somewhat important role.
The general idea was them finding a giant quantum mirror bit enough for a fleet of ships to pass through--which was a pretty cool and terrifying concept, considering the damage a person-sized one did on Stargate SG-1. And though the site is abandoned, the run into one other living being there--a wraith. or, at least, they think it's a wraith. Instead, it's a wraith look-alike that seems to not eat humans. That doesn't mean they can trust her, however. But they need to, in order to thwart the real wraith suddenly on their tail and interested in the big giant mirror deal.
I thought the story was very typical of Stargate Atlantis and the characters seemed in character. Nothing actually jumped out at me as a problem or inconsistency, which means either there were none or I was enjoying it so much I didn't notice. That's a good sign.
I'd definitely like to track down other Stargate Atlantis books in the future.
