Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 5: The Last Olympian
by Rick Riordan

(Audio)

The final book in THIS series of Olympian tales finally gives us that prophecy about Percy that has been talked about since the very first book. He's a week away from turning sixteen, which is when the prophecy said he would either save or destroy the gods, and the world is coming to an end.

Seriously. Kronos is taking over everywhere. Children at Camp Half-Blood are actually dying at an alarming rate for a children's book. And the gods are pretty much nowhere to be found because they're off fighting their own battles. So what's Percy to do? He defends New York City, that's what!

There are some great twists in here, especially regarding Luke, Annabeth, & Thalia's backstories. And it's interesting to see the choices Percy finally has to make. It's also great to see these heroes fighting like adults in a real war.

I found the end of this Kronos-related storyline and this series to be satisfying. It definitely left me wanting more, so I'm glad there are other series and new characters to get to know. But I was very happy with the way things turned out and the way certain subjects were treated. I couldn't have asked for more!
