This was adorable. Like most people nowadays, I've seen the youtube video of the reunion and I've seen part of one of the documentaries. But I didn't know the whole wonder story of this lion living in London.
It was amazing to learn about what these two (three! and more!) friends went through from time time they first saw (and named, ironically) Christian to the times they visited him in Africa. I was captivated, hearing about all the ins and outs, the complications and the joys. I can't believe that they were able to keep him in an antique store and there wasn't more damage (I feel like my tiny little cat would damage everything LOL). I adored the beginning and the fun life he Christian led there for a few months until he grew too big. But it was just amazing to learn about all they went through to get him to Africa and help him adjust.
I was worried that it would end badly for Christian. And there were certainly a number of deaths, but not the ones I was expecting. I did tear up a few times and gasp a few other times.
I also liked that there was extra material put together from letters and their reaction to the video. That gave it a more personal feel :-)
