Sector 7
by David Wiesner
The gorgeous illustrations on the front cover of this book drew me to it when I was volunteering in the children's section at the library. It is a story told in pictures, and the pictures continue to be gorgeous throughout. It's the story of a young boy who, while on a school field trip, makes friends with a cloud who steals his hat. He visits Sector 7, where clouds are given their cloud assignments and then sent down into the sky. It's a creative take on how the sky works. The boy is even given a job at Sector 7 to draw some new possible cloud forms. It's quite fun and imaginative.
I can see why this book was a Caldecott Honor Book!
