Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Who: Assimilation2, Volume 1
by Scott Tipton, David Tipton, Tony Lee, and J.K. Woodward
What's not to love when two of my favorite shows are combined? I thought it was a clever melding, with the Doctor, Amy, and Rory finding themselves on Picard's Enterprise. And even more clever are the Borg and Cybermen teaming up to take over the universe.
There are tons of absolutely perfect little details--Rory putting his Roman centurion experience to good use, the holodeck Dixon Hill program, Guinan sensing the things that shouldn't be, and even Picard pulling his shirt down when he stands up. I loved the Fourth Doctor running around with Kirk and his crew. I loved everyone teaming up with information to try to figure out what was going on and how to stop them. I loved the humor. I loved the drama/action. I loved the concept.
The art style wasn't my favorite, but I did like it and it grew on me throughout. The artist was able to capture everything from battle to a chase scene to San Francisco to Riker's insatiable smiles.
I can't wait to finally get ahold of volume 2 and find out how the story ends!
