I tried to get into this book. I'm very bad about giving up on books, as I keep hoping they'll get better. But my BookCrossing friends are teaching me how to put a book down when I'm not into it in order to move on to the next one. So I made it as far as page 110 out of 294, and now I'm abandoning it.
I just didn't think it was very well written. The characters kept using each other's names after every line of dialogue, which I found irritating. But the dialogue was pretty flat and I didn't care a bit about any of the characters. There's the guy I should really like who is in love with a jerkface who keeps getting smashed, which would be fine except it's almost the only thing any of the characters keeps talking about, so I'm questioning his judgement. There's the guy who keeps getting drunk and seems adorably infatuated with someone he just met. And there's a guy who is a bit of a diva but the most superficial reality show wanabee star you could come across. I might have even rolled my eyes during the sudden, quick declaration of love over the phone because there was so little character development to make me believe and feel it.
I really wanted to love this. But I just didn't feel it. I skimmed the last couple chapters to give myself some closure.
