I picked this up at a local BookCrossing meetup and am SO glad that I did! I loved Alan Alda in M*A*S*H and other appearances, so I was excited to learn more about him. The fact that he reads his own memoir is a great thing for an actor. His delivery, humor, and honesty are enjoyable. Alan takes us from the time he was three to present day, with many adventures (and some misadventures as well). Through the stories, he shares his wisdom, usually in the form of lessons he has learned the hard way--everything from entering show business to his relationship with his parents to almost dying while on location in Chile to his pursuit of knowledge and original ideas. I especially liked his stories about working on M*A*S*H, a gig he almost didn't take because he had to leave his family on the other side of the country to make it work. It was beautiful hearing how he helped shape the show and how the show shaped him. But I also really enjoyed the themes and lessons from other parts of his life. I really admire his sharing all this with his readers.

There's not much more I can say, except that I loved the book! :-)
