Picklist Fun!
Aug. 14th, 2008 10:04 pmI got to do the Picklist at Kings Park library tonight. I never get to do picklist there. I usually do odds and ends and the missing list. Sometimes I help the pages shelve, if carts are days behind. Sometimes I work off lists and check inventories of sections (apparently, Heart of Darkness and Moby Dick are both romances... NOT). But they're short on staff and volunteers because everyone's on vacation and no one had done the PM picklist for the day.
Guess what? I found EVERY SINGLE BOOK on the list! That's NEVER happened to me before. It was INCREDIBLE. Not one missing book out of the whole list. Okay, so the list was just over only one page long, but still. At first, I couldn't find the first book on the list- a Star Wars graphic novel. I looked ALL over the library for it- in new, in juvie series, in graphic novels, on return carts, in piles of graphic novels that were just sitting about. But I couldn't find it anywhere and I was bummed. Then, when I was working on the missing list, I came across it and RACED back into the back room to trap its hold (incidentally, it was to be sent to the other library I volunteer at). Anyway... found the whole list. Totally a memorable occasion I wanted to blog about. Goodness, I'm a dork! heehee!
