Haunted by Desire
by Constance M. Burge
This is a cute little Charmed tale. Well, really it is two tales in one. Piper and Prue unknowingly fall for the same guy (Dylan Thomas, yes, like the poet and, yes, he is a demon). They're so enchanted with him that they sabotage each other's attempts at a relationship. It's a fine storyline, but I feel like it didn't go far enough. The girls realize it way too quickly and get out of the situation without doing any serious harm. The other storyline isn't even that adversely affected by it. The demon doesn't do enough to distract them or hurt them.
The other storyline was more interesting to me. Phoebe is taking a college class and Halloween is approaching. A tragedy (murder? suicide? we're not so sure) occurred in one of the campus buildings on Halloween years ago. Phoebe is determined to figure out what happen, especially when she starts seeing ghosts and strange parallels in her life. Not only is the past coming back to haunt her, but this time it might end in tragedy as well.
It was a fun story, though I wish it had been taken a little farther (these Charmed books are just so short!)
