Tom Sawyer: Detective
by Mark Twain
(Audio)
It's been some time (middle school) since I read Tom Sawyer and Huck Fin. And I vaguely remembered a murder subplot... but I recalled them hiding out in a graveyard. This story must have been one that's slipped my mind. There's a diamond heist and a murder and Tom Sawyer figures it out, of course. I like that this story is told from Huck's perspective. It's great seeing Tom through his friend's eyes, especially during the courtroom scene when the truth finally is revealed!
It was interesting that they picked this particular section to extract and turn into a standalone piece.
It's part cleverness and part his being in the right place at the right time. Earreading this was a great way to spend an hour cleaning!
