One of the libraries at which I volunteer is closing in September for renovations, so I was worried there wouldn't be a summer reading program this year. But there was! I managed to read 10 books (I only counted YA and adult books; I didn't think it was fair to count picture books! LOL). I cashed in my list for a coupon for ten free items from the ongoing book sale. Pickings were slim, because the library is closing and not accepting any new donations. But I still managed to find a few books I will be able to BookCross or find new homes for.

I love that my library encourages adults to spend some summer time reading as well. It's a nice throwback to my childhood. I loved seeing how many books I could get through each summer, spending each hot day inside in the air conditioning, reading. And the fact that I get a few free books that I'll mostly be giving away for free anyway makes it even better :-)
