On another of my LJs I usually make a list of all the books I've bought at the two major book sales I go to each year. I figure now that I have a book-related LJ, it's more appropriate to list all that here :-)

I kept running into books that I'd just read through BookCrossing rings and since no one else wanted them at the sale, I shall take them, register them with my comments, and set them free again.

Book Sale #1: Day 1-
  • The Pleasure of My Company (Audio-CD, Unabridged, read by author Steve Martin!)

  • The Secret Life of Bees (Audio-CD, Unabridged)

  • Velocity (Audio-CD, Unabridged)

  • The Kind Arthur Audio Collection (Audio-Cassette, 4 Arthurian legends)

  • Whispering to Witches (Audio-Cassette, Unabridged, SIGNED by the narrator!)

  • A Passage to India (Audio- Cassette)

  • A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Slippery Slope (10) (Hardcover, BookCrossing- couldn't remember the condition of my copy & this one was pretty)

  • A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Penultumate Peril (12) (Hardcover, for my collection of the series because I didn't have #12 yet)

  • Ireland (I've heard a lot of good things about this book by Frank Delaney)

  • Murder at the Opera (Didn't have this one already)

  • Muder at the Watergate (Didn't have this one already)

  • Sharpe's Battle (BookCrossing- couldn't remember which Sharpe books I have already- turns out I did have this one)

  • The Hindi-Bindi Club (Oversized paperback, TBR for Mom/Sister/Me)

  • The Hours (Oversized paperback, so Mom can finish reading the book, then BookCrossing)

  • Shadow of the Wind (Oversized paperback. So I don't have to loan out my copy when I want others to read this great book!)

  • Cloud of Sparrows (Oversized paperback. Just read a copy in a bookring. Will probably BookCross with it)

  • Darkly Dreaming Dexter (Oversized paperback. Squee! With Michael C. Hall on cover, too)

  • Cycle of the Werewolf (Really neat Stephen King book with illustrations & cool format)

  • The Ultimate Dracula (Oversized paperback)

  • Brothel: Mustang Ranch and its Women (Oversized paperback. Just read this in a bookring. Will probably BookCross with it)

  • Way to Go, Smith (Oversized paperback. BookCrossing since I've already read it & loved it)

  • Inu-Yasha: Ani-Manga #1 (Manga, colored version of the tv episode in manga format! Looks like it's never been read)

  • Inu-Yasha: Ani-Manga #2 (Manga, colored version of the tv episode in manga format! Looks like it's never been read)

  • Marvel Essential Super-Villain Team-Up Vol 1 (Graphic Novel- IMMENSE)

  • Fantastic Five: The Final Doom (Graphic Novel. BEAUTIFUL condition)

  • Star Wars: General Grievous (Graphic novel)

  • Horatio Hornblower: Commodore Hornblower (BookCrossing)

  • Horatio Hornblower: Ship of the Line (BookCrossing)

  • Horatio Hornblower: Hornblower and the Hotspur (BookCrossing)

  • Horatio Hornblower: Beat to Quarters (BookCrossing)

  • Horatio Hornblower: Hornblower and the Atropos (BookCrossing)

  • Horatio Hornblower: Flying Colors (BookCrossing)

  • Eragon (BookCrossing)

  • Trans-sister Radio (Hardcover, BookCrossing)

  • Not going to give the title of this one because it's a gift (Hardcover)

  • The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (Hardcover. For $1 I totally couldn't resist, especially with the movie coming out and I just finished reading Maus)

  • A Traveller's History of Scotland

  • Little House in the Highlands (Read, then... maybe BookCross. But keep if I like it, and I bet I will)

  • The Sorcerer's Companion: A Guide to the Magical World of Harry Potter (Oversized paperback. Yay! *crosses this off my wish list*)

  • What Will Happen in Harry Potter 7 (Oversized paperback. Everyone else seems to have a copy)

  • Empire Building: The Remarkable Real Life Story of Star Wars (Neato!)

So, by my count, that's 41 books for only $30. And more than a handful of those were audio books, and the rest were mostly hardcovers or oversized paperbacks. Seriously, at less than $1 each, for this lot, that totally makes my day!

Looking forward to Day 1 of the other library sale tomorrow morning. And, of course, the bag sales on Saturday and Sunday where I'll get bunches of books for BookCrossing. First day books are usually all for me me me but it was a nice balance this time :-) Though I'm definitely excited about the Fantastic Five GN and the HP books.
